About Dryden Aqua Dryden Aqua is a Scottish based Marine Biological company formed in 1980 specialising in water quality and innovative water treatment technology. We have a strong research and development background and have been conducting research for the European Commission and UK Government under a Life Environment program. As marine biologists our focus has been with the aquaculture and environmental business sectors. An understanding of the biological as well as the physio-chemical reactions has permitted Dryden Aqua to develop a unique range of products and technology relating to; media bed filtration, coagulation, nano-technology, sono-chemistry and electro-coagulation. Research | Equipment | Chemical Products | instrumentation / water treatment Swimming pools presentation | website ..... up to 95% reduction of chlorine & elimination of DBP`s The swimming pool industry in Europe is almost as large as the water industry. At Dryden Aqua we can now guarantee to reduce the chlorine consumption by at least 80% and in many cases by up to 95%. Our Integrated water treatment systems eliminate most of the DBP`s. In effect we have completely solved public swimming pool water treatment because the chlorine oxidation demand is now approaching zero with a DAP Performance factor under 2. If you can enter a swimming pool and you can still smell the chlorine after 1 minute, you should not remain. If you go swimming and your eyes sting, we recommend that you leave the pool immediately. The characteristic pool smell and sore eyes are not caused by chlorine but by a chlorine disinfection by-products DBP`s. The DBP`s are responsible for causing lung disease, spinal deformities, cancer, neurological and genetic damage. We developed the first and only means of assessing pool Performance using the DAP Performance Factor, and we are now alerting health authorities around Europe and advising them of their responsibilities to the public. Drinking Water | website ..... up to 30% reduction in operating costs & reduction of DBP`s WHO (World Health Organization), report 6% of all disease in Europe is from drinking water, of these infections 50% is due to Cryptosporidiosis. More than 90% of all drinking water in Europe is filtered by sand filter. All sand filters will suffer from transient worm-hole channelling. Dynamic bio-instability of sand filters leads to coagulants such as aluminium being discharged in to the water along with prions, viri, bacteria, parasites, endotoxins and exotoxins. Ammonium is also added to water to try and prevent THM`s (mainly chloroform) forming in the water, however ammonium promotes autotrophic bacteria growth and forms more DBP`s. A chemical or engineering solution is attempted to try and solve a biological problem. There are much more efficient, safer and cost effective biological solutions. Dryden Aqua technology has the potential to eliminate the above problems and reduce the operating cost of treating drinking water by up to 30%. Wastewater treatment | website .....remove list 1 chemicals, 1/10 the cost of the alternatives The principal source of environmental water pollution is effluent for sewage works. The Royal Commission Standards were set in the UK over 100 years ago, however very few treatment works are actually in compliance with a 100 year old standard. Dryden Aqua tertiary treatment AFM filtration media can treat sewage water to a standard approaching the quality of drinking water at about 1/10th the cost of any alternative technology. Environmental pollution from sewage works contaminates the environment and our drinking water sources. Also list 1 chemicals discharged in suspended solids is responsible for disease and cancer. Indeed we now believe that List 1 chemicals discharged from sewage works may be responsible, or at least partially responsible for Global Warming. Dryden Aqua were the first to identify the link between and we offer a solution. Aquaria, Water Parks, Lakes & fountains presentations aquaria | lakes & reservoirs | Dryden Aqua equipment and systems are in all major aquaria around Europe and Middle East in systems such as the Burj Al Arab. Dryden Aqua also designed the LSS and manufactured the key components for the Istanbul Aquaria, the largest and most recent aquarium in Europe. One of the more unusual water treatment systems provided by DrydenAqua is the treatment of water used by races horses for Godolphin in Dubai and the UK. The systems are 100% recycled and 100% chlorine free, up to 5000 horses can use the system before we need to consider changing the water. | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
