FS filter media

Filter media for the filtration of Alkaline High pH water

AFM, sand, zeolites and most mechanical filter media will not tolerate very high pH conditions at a high water temperature over 70 deg C.  The higher the pH of the water to be filtered the more unstable the filter media.  Given certain conditions such as a pH over 9.00 and certainly over pH10, in the presence of a high concentration of sodium ions at a high water temperature,  most silicate filter media will slowly dissolve in the water.

In some cases the rate of dissolution or the impact of silicates on the product water will not present a problem,  however if this is an issue we have Ferrous silicate filter media that can be used for pH application above pH 9.0. For a technical information data sheet click here
