- crushed glass filter media, AFM® is manufactured from glass but it is like comparing sand with zeolites, or anthracite to activated carbon, they are two complete different products and should not be confused. A basic crushed glass product is being use in several fields such as aquaculture, swimming pools and even drinking water and as such it represents a very serious public health risk. Only certified filtration media or chemicals should be used for water treatment when the water is in contact with animals or used for human consumption.
