Dryden Aqua provide a silica glass bead filtration media including all support grades as virgin grade clear glass. Glass beads have been used for many years as a filtration media in the chemical industry, at Dryden Aqua we can modify the beads to act as a catalyst for specialist applications, or the standard glass bead may be used as a filter media. Glass beads provide a very uniform filtration rate, however for most applications including Drinking Water, aquaculture, swimming pools and wastewater treatment our standard AFM Activated Filter Media will give a better performance. Glass bead filters are ideal for vortex back-washing filters, or in cases where the media is transferred through pumps scrubbed and then automatically returned to the filters. The vortex or external scrubbing systems require the beads to reduce abrasion issues with the pump impellors. AFM is used for clean water application, or for the polishing of effluent water prior to discharge or gray water recirculation. |

Applications While glass beads may be used for any application, they are best suite for mechanical filtration of grossly polluted water for solids removal down to around 50 microns. 1.
