1330 kg/m³

1520 kg/m³

Abrasion resistance (water only) < 3% loss after 100h backwash
Poured voidage 0.41 – 0.44
Packed voidage 0.34 - 0.39
Acid solubility 20% HCl / 24 h < 5%
Conditions for Operation Grade 0 is used to the ultimate mechanical filtration performance, especially when the filter can not be back-washed at high flowrates.
Bed depth

10 – 100 cm, application dependent

Backwash rate

25 -30 m³/m²/h

Expansion of bed after backwash

15 – 20%

Service flow rate 0.1 – 50 m³/m²/hr in accordance with standard practice and specific application.  Filter performance is inversely proportional to flow, so it is always best to operate the filters at as slow a flowrate as possible.
