Sea-live and disease treatment of salmon

1 x DAD6 diffuser will support 10 tonnes of salmon in a sea cage during treatment with water temperatures below 15 deg C. When made into a frame of 4 x DAD 6 diffusers, the frame will support up to 40 tonnes of salmon. Oxygen transfer is almost 100% efficient with the Dryden Aqua diffusers, in a leading commercial fish farm 1000 tonnes of salmon were supported during sea-lice treatment and only 30 cylinders of oxygen, each containing 12 kg was used by the farm

Ceramic diffusers are the best means of diffusing oxygen into water without wasting the oxygen. However ceramic diffuser tend to be very fragile or the bubble size is too large which gives a poor oxygen transfer coefficient. Dryden Aqua ceramic diffuser are designed to operate at 2.5 bar, however we pressure test them at up to 20 bar, indeed they will occasionally survive 50 bar of pressure. Every other manufacturers diffuser that we have tested normally blows at under 10 bar.

Our diffusers are manufactured from a solid cast aluminum base which has been chromated and fully epoxied. The ceramic plate is epoxy bonded into the cast, and prevented from experiencing any torsion moments, this can only be achieved by using a solid metal frame. Indeed if you place our diffuser on a concrete floor and hit it full force with a sledge hammer, there is a good chance that it will survive. However strength is nothing unless you have a high transfer coefficient, and this respect our diffusers excel. The oxygen diffusion cloud comes out of our diffusers looks like milk.

The diffusers can be used as individual units or we can manifold them on to a stainless steel frame.
