AFM Stainless Steel Pressure Filters For Leachate treatment and algae recirculation
The quality of the water from our extended diffused aeration systems used for the treatment of leachate water from landfill sites is of an excellent standard, however we can do better. The AFM pressure filter can be used to filter the tre4ated leachate water. The discharge from the the filter will have a suspended solids content less than 4mg/l, the BOD and COD will also be reduced. The AFM filter will remove 90% of the the solids in the water in excess of 10 microns in size, this means that you have a tremendous quality of water.
Algae
Most water treatment systems use bacteria as the principal means of biological treatment of the water. At Dryden Aqua we have developed the use of algae in addition to bacteria to treat the water. The AFM pressure filtration system is used to capture the algae in the discharge water and recycle the algae back in the system. The application of the the algae, increases the performance of the the system, and allows us to treat water to a quality that is acceptable for discharge to surface water.
Ozonation UVc and RO
After the AFM filter the water is of an extremely high quality, but again it is still possible to improve the water. Because the vast majority of the the pollutants have already been removed from the the water, the application of Ozone, UVc and RO becomes very easy and low cost additional component to the system. For example, with a system treating in the the order of 100 cubic meters of leachate of water per day, the budget costs for the systems is as follows;
UVc £2,500 Ozonation £12,500 Reverse osmosis £ 26,500
