Treatment of leachate water from Landfill Sites The treatment of landfill leachate has been solved. Given an effluent of 1000mg/l ammonium 4000mg/l cod, we can now achieve consistent discharge levels of around 1mg/l ammonium, 95% to 99% COD reduction and levels around 5 mg/l suspended solids. The process employs our balanced diffused aeration system followed by AFM filtration to produce a clean and bright discharge. Surface water discharge compliance can now be easily achieved.
