4. FIRST AID MEASURES

Inhalation

Remove to fresh air, rest and keep warm. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. In severe cases, or if recovery is not rapid or complete, seek medical attention.

Prolonged Skin Contact Remove contaminated clothing. Wash skin thoroughly with soap in running water.

Eye Contact Irrigate with copious amount of water (remove Contact lenses if possible).

Ingestion Do not induce vomiting because of risk of aspiration. Harmless if swallowed.

Contaminated clothing Wash before reuse

Personal Precautions Wear appropriate PPE - See 8 below.

Instructions for removal Collect as solid waste and transfer to suitable containers. Avoid raising dust. Hold for waste disposal. Ventilate area and wash spill site after pick up is complete

7. HANDLING AND STORAGE

Handling Good general ventilation. Local exhaust ventilation required. Wear appropriate PPE.

Storage Store in cool, dry place.

8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS / PERSONAL PROTECTION

Respiratory Protection Local exhaust ventilation system and general ventilation should be provided to control atmospheric dust to below the occupational exposure standard of 10 mg/m³ as Mg (8-hour TWA total inhalable – EH40/92). NIOSH / MSHA approved respirator (to EN149 FFP2(s)) where exposure standard likely to be exceeded. Do not breathe dust.

Eye Protection Chemical Safety Goggles to an approved

standard. Ensure eye bath is available.

Handling For prolonged exposure, wear gloves suitable for work being carried out. No particular specification is required to suit the dust. If abnormal skin sensitisation occurs, consult medical advisor for suitable barrier cream.
