Installation of Injectors in a Bypass Assembly

Bypass assemblies are used with Injectors for two purposes. These are:

  1. To create a pressure differential across the injector to induce suction
  2. To enable use of an injector whose flow rate is less than the total flow rate

A typical Bypass Assembly is shown below. When used for liquid suction, the injector may be mounted in either the "straight" run or in the bypass portion. When used for gas suction, the injector should be mounted in the "straight" run of piping. This will optimize gas mass transfer.

Bypass Assemblies should be installed so that the injector outlet is at, or above, the horizontal. "Full Flow" valves and pipe fittings should be used so that water flow through the injector is not restricted.
