Algae are 100 times more productive than a field of corn and will provide a solution to biofuel production without valuable agricultural land Algae production systems may be installed on brown field sites next to sources of carbon dioxide such as power stations, or they can be located at sea. The nutrient source may be urea or sewage effluent as a source of nitrogen and phosphates, carbon dioxide will be extracted from the air or injected into the water.The very first diesel engine used coal dust, in this respect you can actually use powdered algae as a fuel source for a diesel engine, or you simply extract the oils to use as a fuel source.Dryden Aqua have developed the instrumentation and continuous harvesting technology that makes this technology feasible.
