My Campaign is based over 3+years. My aim is to race the Mini through 2009 and 2010 and to take part in the 2011 Transat. My training for that race has started now.

The mini transat is a hugely demanding race. Single-handed, Transatlantic race in the tiny, open 6.5 (Class Mini). Started by Bob Salmon in 1977. It was His idea was to create an affordable single-handed offshore racing yacht which was accessible to more sailors. By having boats that are no bigger than 6.5m. Built with low cost  construction materials.
The race rules well simple. Cross the Atlantic ocean, solo, on a sailing boat no bigger than 6.5m, with no assistance.

The race starts at La Rochelle, France. Every two years, 80+ solo sailors head out to the start line, For the start of there 4000+ mile transatlantic race. With a short stopover in the Canary Islands.

This is the race many famous sailors have started their careers.
One of the best known sailors started the career in this race. Ellen Macarthur, she has gone onto race Open 60s, and single handed trainman's and world records. fastest person round the world non stop solo.
