AFM® (Activated Filter Media) is made from 100% locally sourced recycled glass, produced in state-of-the-art facilities in Switzerland and Scotland.
Our production is self-sufficient in water and energy, exclusively using rainwater and generating up to 1.2 gigawatts of solar energy per year. Every by-product is recycled or reused, ensuring zero-waste manufacturing and setting a new standard for sustainable production.
Thanks to its activation process, the surface of AFM® is significantly increased and becomes hydrophobic, enabling it to capture ultra-fine particles as small as 1 micron (Filtration certified by the independent laboratory IFTS).
AFM® filters about 50% more organic matter than sand or other filter media, ensuring exceptional water clarity while significantly reducing the use of chemicals compared to other filtration methods (sand and cartridge filters).
AFM® stands out for its exceptional backwash performance. Unlike other filter media that suffer from clogging, biological fouling, and poor bed expansion, AFM® ensures optimal expansion even during slower backwashes. Without biofilm accumulation, it removes more than 95% of trapped particles in less time. This process reduces water consumption by up to 80% compared to other filter media, saving thousands of liters each year.
